POPKIN POSITIVE IMPRESSION CONTROL (PPIC) is a retro-fit assembly which rigidly and precisely supports the Impression Cylinder in the press frame. Normally, the Impression Cylinder is supported by spring loaded levers which flex under load. The PPIC replaces those levers. This much needed and requested improvement now permits a full, intensive, and accurate transfer of solids or screen from the blanket to a textured, linen, or coarse stock. With the PPIC modification, the Impression Cylinder is now ridgidly supported by frame-mounted eccentric sintered steel bushings. The existing Pressure Control Knob now is re-indexed to easily and accurately raise or lower the Impression Cylinder to accommodate paper thickness (pressure). The PPIC IS GUARANTEED TO IMPROVE PRINTING QUALITY ENORMOUSLY, with no detriment to the press. The unit is WARRANTEED FOR FIVE YEARS.
